In the early 1980s, he was transferred to the Longfengshan Agricultural Machinery Station as the stationmaster, which made him bear the fate of life with rice seeds. What really makes Wuchang Rice famous in the world is the long grain rice "93-8" that he cultivated in 1993. Long-grain rice has always been grown in the south. In the cold northeast, no one has ever seen long-grain rice in the ground. However, Tian Yongtai has repeatedly tested and repeatedly screened it.

"93-8 is not only a long grain, but also a very soft mouthfeel and aroma. Its original species was discovered by chance when I went to the ground, and it was also found on the ground of 517, also in my southwest direction. Not my superstition But I would rather be 517 and come back." Tian Yongtai told reporters that the advent of "93-8" was not only recognized by the department, but also praised by the general public. Later, "93-8" was named "Five Youdao No.1". Since 1994, it has been planted in large areas. Since then, the delicious name of Wuchang rice has spread all over the country.

In 1999, the advent of "Taohuaxiang 2" brought Tian Yongtai's breeding career to a new height, and more incredible ones became reality one by one. "This official name is called 'Wuyoudao No. 4'. The new variety is called 'Taohuaxiang' because the rice is too fragrant, even the leaves and rice flowers are fragrant, and it inherits 93-8. All the genes have an indescribable scent, and more importantly, he is almost never sick."
